History

In the Spring of 2001, my new roommate convinced me to give Everquest a try.  I created a halfling druid, and entered Norrath.  I was promptly killed by another halfling.  I popped back and tried to find my corpse (and evade my killer), but ended up running up a hill into a magical wall.  The player who had killed me (and was on the verge of killing me again) finally asked, “Are you new?”  After I finally figured out how to respond, he let me go.  I found my way into town and logged out.

When I logged in next, my roommate teleported me to Greater Faydark to help him transfer items to one of his alts.  After the transfer was done, he left me there.  I decided to just run back to where I was.  Armed with the map that came in the game’s package, I set out for the docks.  Lesser Faydark seemed to be on the way, so I decided to cut through it.  I was running along, minding my own business, when BOOM–I was obliterated by something called a brownie.  I had no idea how to get back to my corpse, much less where it was.  I deleted that poor halfling, and from that inauspicious start was born Daemia.

Since then, I’ve gone through casual and hardcore phases, developed a healthy penchant for alts, switched over to World of Warcraft…not to mention all the RL changes.  Daemia is still my main, but has spawned a brood on Silver Hand–one of each class.  Currently they’re all over 60, and my goal is to get them all to 80 before the cap raises again.  However, I’m on hiatus now so we’ll see how that goes.
